We ran all around the east shore over the weekend. There were fish to be had, all in all a pretty good weekend. We caught smallmouth, pickerel, drum, and perch. There were some larger perch to be had, but they were few and far between. One day I followed the cormorants around and did a decent job. They sure can find the fish. Unfortunately we didn’t get any walleye. The main lake water temp was around 62 degrees yesterday, and the canal was around 56.
Nice job on the salmonids guys, awesome pics as well.
Beautiful granddaughter you got there pops! Where’s her Brown’s shirt?

I learned about the Challenger minnows here, and I have had limited success with them. What's the latest hot crank in NY for walleyes at night?

Hey Tim! We talked a few years ago...
We have low water here in MN (And, no, we don't all talk like that) so it's a challenge. I've been using the Walmart $1.97 specials, as well as the Challengers. Best so far has been a modified #8 Husky Jerk - if you pinch the nose loop into an oval and bend it down 30 degrees or so you can take a foot off the running depth. A side bonus is that it enhances the wobble.
