6-1, great turn around.

There defence by far has them a way better team this year. Wille Van was defencive player of the week. Great to see a local kid from Silver Lake get that.

I hope they keep playing well, and get that awesome bowl this year.

Makes you think last year was a fluke in terms of how bad you were. But having been a long time Gopher fan I know the instant I have a glimmer of hope for them, they'll find a way to blow it.

I'm starting to believe Brewster is the real deal. I like how he has this team playing and believing in themselves. Bottom line is that we're much improved from last year and that's all that matters. Go Gophs!

Brewster can recruit and coach.

I hope they keep it up. What an improvement!

I think I was much more optimistic than most people by thinking this team was cabable of winning their non-conference games and one Big Ten game for a total of five wins. But what they've done so far this year is down right amazing.

One thing I like with Brewster is that he gets involved during the game. He's talking to the players, he's working with them as they come off the field, he's firing them up, etc. I think that portion of coaching is still pretty important at the college level, and you see most of the good college coaches doing it. Mason never talked to his players during the game.

The win at Illinois was very impressive. The Illini have a pretty solid squad. Its good to see.

I'm pretty excited to see the improvements this year. It will be real interesting to see who Brewster brings in with the 2009 recruiting class especially with the big improvements this year and the new stadium about ready to open.

talking to a IOwa State fan,,, (the Gophers and ISU have been virtually mirror images the last 7-8 years) he was asking how the Gophers are recruiting for the new outdoor field. Good question. I know most of the games in MN during the Big Ten schedule are nothing to worry about weatherwise, but not being in a dome for the last weeks of OCt and the games of NOV has to be different,,, wonder how this works for getting those southern kids. It works at OSU and other northern Big 10 teams, but MN can be and usually is different weatherwise come late season in the Big 10. Anybody know if this is even a valid topic???

Good question. Wisconsin and Michigan can get almost as cold in November, but haven't had issues recruiting. So I would say the November weather shouldn't be that much of an issue. Brewster was able to pull in some Texas kids for '08 despite the open air stadium. I think his main lure has been a fair opportunity to play immediately as a freshman.
