So when you released that thing, did it swim sideway or look like a snake?

I've caught a walleye like that before...I can't remember if it was from the river or up north. Perhaps a deformation caused by an attack from a predator? Mine didn't have teeth marks either, so maybe from a catfish?

I've seen several fish with that, even a 48" muskie on Mille Lacs! For most fish its a genetic defect they are born with, a form of spinal curviture, but it can also be caused by high water temperatures during their early development. Very weird none the less! You had better have a steady hand if your going to fillet one!!

i agree. had the same thing happen to me with some fish i was breeding. got a few bad genes mixed in and basicly had to get rid of them all and start over, i didn't know which ones were affected. that taught me the value of quarantine at least grin ... best to weed them out though and harvest maybe. gets me thinking, how in the heck would you measure something like that? be 20''s straight and 13'' all kinked up, lol.
