Talked with several of the guys that will be in the tourney seems there having a hard time putting fish in the boat, many of them have never fished the croix river system before and are more then willing to ask for advice on the how too, I still think they will put up some good weight totals, maybe not thirty pounds a day but I'm sure fifteen pounds will be easily, heck if I can be doing it the last couple times trips out no reason they can't

I don't know that they have it "closed" for the tourney, but it's pointless if they are fishing it. It's catch and release there only. I don't think that means you can catch them on Pool two and release in Hudson.

Well FM' RS I was out all weekend fishing my local sport on the Croix and I saw about 20 of them all out working the Notorious spots, St. Marys' point, afton flats, the deeper flats in LAke St. Croix, Kinny, Prescott Bridge,Powe plant discharge area, pool 3 wing dambs.. Every person was doing something different. Some were pulling cranks, some pitching spoons, and some were jigging minnows/leeches, snap jigging REAL REAL SLOW!!!! The guys I won't mention any names but were doing good down by the wing dambs and also up by lock/damb #2 just up from hasting 61 bridge. I saw a guy cruz through Kinny going about 55 mph an he was on the EAST side of the Red markers. in about 1-2 feet of water just where Kinny funnels out, I thought I was going to see a disaster!! But his motor just bogged down and he slammed through.. Anyways..
How far can a person get a boat North Of Stillwater??? I would bet there are some weeds, muskie/ Smallmouth guys that can answer this?

The water levels are pretty high right now. You can go about 3 miles north of Stillwater to the Soo line High Bridge (mile 28.5), you cannot go past the Zebra mussel checkpoint going upstream.

They are limited too fishing these areas.
Rules Quoted" 2. Boundaries for Pro-Am & Shootout: St. Croix River north to the Arcola Sandbar (Rail Bridge), south including entire pool 3 of Mississippi River. 3. The PWT limit is 5 fish. Minimum size is 15 inches.

I'm guessing 4lb. 2oz. average will win. Who knows, could be a tough bite and be much less, but some of these guys will unlock the key.

I know Turk is for sure. I believe Dan was looking into it. It would be great if one of these two one it wouldn't it? I believe there are at least a couple of FMers as AMs in this as well.
