Heading up next weekend, couple of questions.
1. Where is the best bet to get some good minnows this time of year is the area? Are good redtails going to be hard to find? I am not going to pay $10 bucks a dozen for poor quality redtails.
2. Might try a new lake for a day. Any lakes that you'd say are better Fall lakes?
Thanks

Ha yes Red Tails...D&H Bait (HWY 10 east of Dilworth) should have a new shipment by now, Bud's in Lake Park also should have a new supply...Big Cormorant, Middle Cormorant are starting to get into the fall bite..Good Luck.

Redtails were $9 a dozen in Perham last weekend. They were worth the money. Good luck

Does anyone know how late Quality Bait stays open? Also, does Franklin have a small pike problem like Crystal? How do you usually fish that lake? We usually fish Lida, but if one of those nasty fall winds kick up it'd be nice to have a smaller lake option to try.

I love fishing with the bigger minnow liek this in the fall, you can actually feel them sometimes go nuts before the fish bit. can't wait to fix my darn wheel bearings so I can get out again. AFter the rain of course.

forget the bait.Throw on a crank bait and troll the shallows. I've been doing pretty well with out buying bait using this technique.LOL BUT, I do like quality bait as well. John is fair for sure. good luck!!!!!!!!

I'll be up for the next 4 days close to toad lake. don't let the extra 1-2 dollars decide the out come of a great trip. If red's were 15 a dozen I would buy them cause I've been getting 2 and even 3 fish per minnow on the 4-5 incher's. And I done the side by side test of rainbows and suckers and red's win hands down. this is just my take.
