What is up with Obama insisting on a rebutial to a question?
Seem's like he insist on getting his way or am I reading it wrong? If he didn't have terms at the beginning of the night's venue for rebutials, how is he going to get along with republicans, if he insist on having things his way and the last word on a subject?
I now have to question who I am voting for, after that scene tonight.

I doubt it. There are more posts during the day than any other time. Work???? Who does that anymore? That is one reason we have a crisis in government spending. Too many people that get payed to do very little. Makes the rest of us have to work more and make very little. I have thought that same thing. How do all these people have time to sit at a computer and talk on the net all day. I want their job. Farmer

Big Tom, don't you know by now lmitout is just some fanatic and he can't be taken seriously??? Ron Paul's performance tonight in the debate wasn't even noticeable...he couldn't have won. Oh wait, the entire debate wasn't noticeable, maybe he did. Hardly a fanatic. He's an excellent time saver. I can't tell you the number of websites I don't have to read anymore and I hardly go on youtube at all anymore because he posts everything of interest here for me. I have also learned to completely ignore the original thought issue and the absence of constructive suggestions for improved policies saves me valuable time when I read his posts. I am a little cheesed off he ruined the Santa Claus thing for me today though.

The Viking's won. 160 to 0 against GB. 11 intereceptions and 5 returned for TD. Allen had 2 sacks agains Farve. Yes Farve. Tjack threw for 291 yards and 3 tds. Berrian only had 1 drop and 2 40 yard + tds. Ap had 271 yards and 4 rushing Td. I refuse to waste my time and played Madden 2008 instead.

That might have been a reference to McSaim, in his opening response, he promised to buy everyones mortgage, and cut the principle and the interest rate... If he's gonna play Santy, he needs to cut everything by at least 1/3, including credit cards...then he will have a chance... Of course if elected, he would have no chance of doing what he promised...imagine that...

Moby brought up a good point.
Right out of the gate McCain promised to buy up mortgages and help people come to terms they could afford. Doesn't that fly in the face of typical Republican preachings of "less government"?
I know alot of the republicans on this forum tend to oppose bail outs for people with bad mortgages, atleas thats the sense I get, please correct me if I am wrong. As soon as he said that I thought he could have just angered his typical constituents.
The main issue I had with McCain tonight was he preached cutting taxes or at worst leaving them as is. But he also preached buying mortgages, paying $5000 per person for health care, etc.
How can he cut, cut, cut and still have money to pay for this stuff.
Obama I thought had a better approach saying you need to look at both sides of the ledger. Like any company you need to look at whats coming in and whats going out. YOu can't cut your income and expect to raise your spending. YOu won't last too long like that.

Just some thoughts....
I thought Mccain won the debate tonight hands down. But after watching the news afterwards, I think I am the only one. Why???I do favor Mccain and thats who I will be voting for. Obama just isn't experianced enough for the office. His tax plan is all talk and it is what politicians have been saying for years, lets cut taxes on the middle class! WELL VOTERS, THERE IS A LITTLE MORE TO THE ECONOMY THAN THAT. Obama states that he will pull out of Iraq and go into Afganistan and we will achieve world piece. WELL, THERE IS A LITTLE MORE TO IT THAN THAT. There are more issues but I would be here all night so I named a couple. Obama is an Eliquint speaker, a handsome man and extremely smart... But to me, first and foremost, HE IS A POLITICIAN, A VERY GOOD ONE and I don't know how much action we will get out of him in the office. 8 years ago we voted for the man that we could relate to and look where it got us. Mccain is way to go.
Lower Inflation, lower gas prices, fix the housing market and shape up the credit market in my oppinion need to be the top priorities, am I wrong? Cut back on the war spending and spending in general. Those are my top concerns and thats why I think that Mccain should be President.

Cut back on the war spending and spending in general. Those are my top concerns and thats why I think that Mccain should be President. How does that fit into McCain's plan to stay in Iraq indefinitely and to buy mortages at the loan's current value and then give those people a new loan on the devalued price of their home? That is going to cost some big bucks to tax payers or it is going to continue to accrue more debt. I have cited the report before but you may want to check out, "An Updated Analysis of the 2008 Presidential Candidates’ Tax Plans: Revised August 15, 2008," from the Tax Policy Center. Obama's plan would increase the national debt $3.6 trillion to $5.9 trillion while McCain's plan would increase teh debt $5.1 trillion to $7.4 trillion . While any increase in the national debt is not a good idea the plan with a smaller increase in the debt would be the lesser of two evils . As far as gas prices go, the market dictates those prices, not the president. Obama is an Eliquint speaker, a handsome man and extremely smart... But to me, first and foremost, HE IS A POLITICIAN,... I have a news flash for you, so is McCain.

Buying up homes then refinance at the devalued market rate. Something seems amiss here. After he does that and the market turns around and housing shoots up everyone makes a huge profit on the home, what the government is going to be a brokerage firm know. Sounds a little suspicious to me. Almost like a sceem for some investors sitting back to scoop up these devalued homes under the feet of the home owners and sell at a profit.
I like the Idea of helping refinance at a good fixed rate but only on the original home loan value and ride out decrease in value of the property. Why should the taxpayer help someone make a buck when they made the poor judgment in the first place. Will they buy my truck loan and refinance it at blue book value know being gas prices drove down the value

First you'll need to remember the $700 Billion was just the start. There will be more. How much more and where it goes isn't known yet. So we already know, the easy to get loans drove home prices up, which in turn sparked new home construction. Sort of a catch 22 there. Without the easy loans you don't qualify to get a home loan because you can't afford payments. So now you have that easy loan on a home with an artificially inflated price.
The extended bailout proposed by McCain is he'd like the home owner to keep their home. The new money is going to be thrown somewhere. If not to refinance those loans then where?
One statement by McCain which I disagree with was he thinks home prices are low. IMO those prices are getting back to were they should be and that those questionable loans are the reason for the inflated prices. At any rate they will fix themselves now.
IMO what America needs is a President that'll to get rid of the crooks. McCain's statement that he'll throwout the lobbyists in Washington, no more CEO's running companies into the ground then walk away with golden parachutes, and the manipulation in Wall Street.
Both candidates talked about new energy and more drilling. I want to hear how they intend to stop the manipulation of oil prices now.
Oil is the root of our problem right now. High fuel prices has driven up the cost of everything you buy. Forget tax cuts, trickle up or trickle down. Get oil back down and you will be saving more on the items you buy. Less housing foreclosures and more buying. Thats what we need to spark our economy.
The question asked during the debate, "what sacrifices would you ask American's to take"?
It was Obama that replied, we need to conserve energy. BINGO!
So with all the jabs we see going back and forth at each other and their candidates, I'll ask are you doing your part?
"Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what can I do for my country." JFK.
