They sure are fun to catch, keep up the time you are spending on the water, and you will be rewarded with even bigger. My 10 year son caught a 28#er this summer, imagine the work out he had to reel it in. He sure is proud of it, but I think if it was 29 #, I dont think he would have gotten it in.

Yeah my buddy and I spend a lot of time on the water and it is just finally rewarding us.

This is my buddies fish from a week ago:

I was at work so he didn't have access to my scale, but it is estimated around 18-20 lbs.

I entered a photo of my 47lb flatheded in the Mills Fleetfarm John Gillespies 2008 fishing contest and today I got a letter from Mills saying that my photo was selected as on of the winning photos and got a $25.00 MFF gift card. boy did that make my day. Its one of those things that I never do and my wife picked up the entry form at mills and told me to fill it out and so I did and wouldnt you know it I won again with that flathead GOTTA LOVE BIG CATS now I have to head to MFF and buy cat gear with it.

^ Very nice. I can't wait to tangle with a 45# fish. A couple weeks ago I was saying the same about 30# Flatheads and the next thing you know I get one so maybe my dreams will come true.

Went out tonight and I alone had 4 very good Cat runs but was only able to land one small Flathead.

Here he is:

Was too small for us to wanna weigh it so we estimated around 6 lbs or so. My PB smallest Flathead!

Good to see someone's still hitting it! Surprising to see a 6 pounder being your smallest ever though! I have caught them as small as 18 inches long on live bullheads, and I've heard of them being caught as small as 10 inches or so.

I have caught some very small 12" Channel Catfish but never a very small Flathead. This little guy swallowed a 9-10" Sucker that was frozen, and I think that's pretty impressive.

What's up guys, I am Nick, I am the guy holding all the fish in MW ^^^ pictures ... we are both new to catfishing (and river fishing in general) but we're both officially hooked. So far my pb flathead this season is that 20 lb. flat you see up on this page. Hopefully we'll be able to meet up with some of you guys next season to learn a little from the experts lol

What's up buddy? I'de say we have a good list of Flatheads for just starting at the end of July. The first probably ten times we went out we were fishing in what is probably 3-5 feet deep, but regardless of no Catfish we still had fun with Gar and Carp. Once we realized where to look for a legit chance at Catfish, we started landing the Flats and learned quickly how to target them. I have learned just as much about fishing in the last three months as I have since I was a kid with a 3' Zebco Snoopy reel.

Been fun, but you still gotta catch and pass me!

I caught one (flathead) last season on worms that was about 8" had all the coloring of his big brothers just smaller.
