Hey Tadster. This is ccow's mentor... JCOW. I think ccow already told you we are going up the 10th. Perchin it Friday then out in the dark trying to trick walleyes into the boat the rest of the weekend. Been pretty cold at night here in DSM so I hope it has been colder up there. Some nice cold rain would help. You are coming Sunday, we will definately be able to let you know where and with what. We always find them somewhere. There is no escape.

With the lack of quality reports and the expected quick drop in water temp I plan to head out during day (first day) and mark spot after spot on the map. Plan to mark best cabbage, transission and drops all related to cabbage. Year after year the first decent bite in the fall is always related to cabbage so if the bit hasn't started yet I expect this will be the first stop. Bait is likely there already, local fish are hanging there. Last year, about the same time the fish we got were in spots with no weeds or inside the weeds but the reference to no weeds was what made the spot unique. Cabbage, cabbage no weeds (fish) Cabbage. Next night would be tough and guys next to us pulled their fish in the cabbage. My mistake in past has been not spending quality time scouting the day before and marking spots that look good. Plan to do that this year because expecting fish harder to come by.
There's always perch and the fact that this is my second time on the water this year just being out there is a win, win. JCOW, that dosn't mean I'll be mellow on the water though or maybe this year will be a new me.........
That wouldn't be right. We'll gettem. Half the fun is fuguring it out. May be on the last hour of the last day.

When do you plan to get up there on Sunday. Depending on when we take off we could swing by or you could swing over to the Red Door. Let me know and we'll try to stop by.

rocks..... troll at night but watch the depths.... i dont care what anyone says the colder the water the better.... be patient and wait out the adrenaline till 45 degree water temps... it may be too cold but if you want a day and night filled with way too many hogs than you can handle then wait till 45 degrees....... no specific spots.... anywhere 2 minutes from shore....

Anyone's got an open seat this weekend? I wanted to see if my brother wanted to take his boat out this weekend up there but appearently something's wrong with the outboard so its a no-no untill he gets it fixed. It's my first year fishing mille lacs and i tell you what its a fishery like none before. First time there caught 8 huge monsters that were all released and the smallest one being 19''.... never in my life have i ever wanted smaller walleyes before hahaha.... but since then all i've wanted to do is fish Mille Lacs....been waiting for that fall bite and I'll be glad to pay for gas/food/etc.... pm me or email me touvang763@hotmail.com if anyone of you guys have a open seat.
