Anyone been hunting in the WMA south of Hastings on the River?
Can you get to any of the areas by foot, it looks like it would be preatty hard to get anywhere exept by boat.

Also, anyone know the first huntable area south of St Paul? Can you leagally hunt in Grey Cloud Island area?

Some of those potholes off the backwaters are accessible by walking the tracks. It is tough but can be done. Google maps on Sattelite mode and you will see better what and where they are. They may be dry this year though so realize you may want to call the area wildlife manager. Good luck.

Other folks have warned that walking the tracks is technically trespassing on the railroads property. Most access is by boat.

USDA3,

I scouted a bit down there but could not find a decent place to hunt. I found another place around the Lakeville area, but have to hump it about 1/4 mile.

I live in Newport - if I find someplace close by I will also let you know.

Do not know about Grey Cloud Island area.
