Is the newer landing at the top end of the West Newton Chute under construction? I drove up the main channel on the weekend and thought I saw a boom on shore.

They are dredging on the upstream side of the landing the last I knew, so I guess they closed it to keep traffic out. Make sure and obey the no wake around the dredge cause "they" are looking for you and will hand out tickets (150 big ones I hear). The old landing is usable for larger boats (bass and walleye), but good luck putting in there for the next few weekends because of duck hunting and that landing being closed. I tried to put in there last weekend and had to pull all of the way to Minnieska.
