I had my first hunt this weekend with my one year old springer spaniel. Saturday we didn't have any luck, but she still had alot of fun. This morning we managed to get two geese, and a mallard. Not the best hunting. Yet it was one I will never forget. It is a great feeling watching my dog in action for the first time. She did look pretty funny a 39 pound dog, retrieving a 10 pound goose.

Took my 4 M.O. chcocolate out for his 1st time yesterday. Pouring rain, bad spot, Threw out the deekes and said to my friend, Well wonder how long b4 he goes swimming, Splash! less then 4 minutes ancored!. Pulled him back in Waited until about 9:00 1st duck came by I said you shoot and I will handle the dog to see how he reacts to the close shooting. He shoots and miss's Dog Splash again, goes after the wad. So for me it was a excellent start!

I have a 9 year old black lab/husky cross.

As soon as he saw the gun and camo, he was excited.

But the end of the weekend, he was tired from all the work getting ducks out (some in tough spots).

He even found downed birds for other hunters that couldn't find their ducks.

He even found a wounded duck of mine that ran 50 feet into the woods.
