Went up Saturday and hubby and I fished for about 6 hours. Caught 28 Walleye. Most fish taken in first 4 hours, then a storm rolled through and fish turned off for us after that. Got 7 eaters to take home and plenty to throw back. Biggest was 24".
Lindy rig setups with Crawlers worked again for us on the deeper humps. Working mostly the 28' to 35'. Red Gammy #4 hooks, with 1 bright fluorescent bead and a 1/2 Crawler blown up a bit with air. 5' leader.

I just wanted to put my 2 cents in too. My buddies and I were up on Rainy from 9-2 to 9-5-08. We did the houseboat thing for the 2nd year in a row. We had much better success this year compared to last year. Tuesday was tough because of big waves but Wed and Thurs were great fishing days. We did the west end on Tuesday and Wednesday and did well on wednesday. Got a nice 24" near Dryweed island. East end on Thursday was great and we all caught a lot of walleyes. I had a big fish on that I was pretty excited about but my drag was set too tight and he got off Two of us brought our limit of walleyes home...myself included. Great trip, beautiful lake. We'll be back next year but I may try to get back earlier than that as I live in the Grand Rapids area. Thank you to everyone that answered my questions prior to my trip. Rainy Rocks!!!!

Nice work on the Walleyes Champ. Yes, it is getting a bit chilly in Sept now, July and Aug. are warmer.
Alot less boats in Sept. though.
