September can be tough fishing as everything gets turned
upside down during the cool down. Saturday we saw rain,
sun, more rain, a water spout and 180 degree change of
wind direction and fishing was still pretty good.

The charter boats were piled up from the jetty at Zippel
Bay to almost Long Point. Most of the boats were pulling
crank baits one way or another. I was out with Walleye
Jon and we brought everything but the downriggers. We
trolled with lead core and long lined big baits on Fireline
in 24 to 26 feet a good share of the day.

At mid day we ran out to the 9 footer and wasted 2 hours on
that. Back to Zippel where we finished up pretty busy
anchored and jigging for the best results of the day.

Lots of big fish pulled by many of the boats out there again.
Geez there are a pile of biggees right now. Very solid day
of fishing overall, we made a couple of mental errors that
slowed us down some (one was the long run to the 9 footer,
but you never know till you get there). I think we could
have sat on the anchor all day and done better but it was
a real nice day to troll.

It would have been only a fair day of fishing in August but
for September it was above what a guy could expect. Cant wait
till October.
