there has been no stocking of muskie in green. They swam in from nest lake. I guess there used to be a hatchery there, or still is not sure.some one else might be able to shed some more light on the subject. If you caught one out there i would consider yourself lucky. But not many people are gonna believe you without a picture. There seems to be a couple people a year that say they caught or seen a muskie on one of these two lakes but never any pictures. But it sure would be sweet if they stocked green and got a fishable population of muskie in there.

I caught a Muskie on Green 10 years ago. It was July 4th and I was casting a Rapala off the dock. It was a small one, but a Muskie none the less.

Yes there are muskies in green lake and big ones. This is just one guys opinion but I do not think that the DNR needs to put anymore feeding machines in the lake, Just take out a minnow net and see how many shiners you get.

There have been pictures posted at Mel's with muskies caught out of Green in the past. It seems like it is usually one or two every couple of years. If more muskies would improve the walleye fishery; ie Mille Lacs, Winnie, etc, I am all for it. Otherwise, stock some other lake such as Nest or Norway for the Muskie guys.

Dudes, smallies are great eatin. I dont eat them oftten cause most of the lakes i fish have heavy smallie regs but ive tasted a few of the stinky things oughta tonka and they were just awesome. Plus for MEATFISH you are miss informed cause u eat smallies but dis rockbass. wow rock bass are great. I eat tons from up north i was catchin them like 10 for every walt i caught so i just started coolerin em. best decision I ever made man. They taste like a big old scunnies. But you prolly wouldent want ta take it from me cause im a die hard pike deboner. I think there sweet. aint had sunnies or crappies in like 5 years cause i can get as much meat offa 1 nort as i could a limit of them little pannies. walts are alright though but i ussually just pitch em back if they aint like 16 or 17 inchers. Yea smoked carp, is great too! anyway i aint like a fish pig or anything but when u fish like 5 days a week and invested thousand a dollers in doin so its good to harvest a little somthin for the road, chow!!

I've eaten smallies in the BWCA when I was a 15 year old and we weren't able to catch any walleyes that year. A real smallie angler would never condone eating one, however. Lots better fish to eat than bass. I will agree that northern are great eating, especially if you're adept at removing the y-bones. I've heard from many that rock bass are full of worms but have also heard from a few that they are good to eat. I don't have trouble finding eater crappies and sunnies so I doubt I'll ever resort to eating a rock bass unless I am in real peril. Catfish are supposedly good too but having tried those this spring I doubt I'll travel down that road ever again. I've heard you're supposed to boil them first to clean up the fillets, and then fry 'em... I'm sorry but if I need to boil the crud off of something before I cook and eat it then I think I'll pass. Give me perch, give me pannies, give me walleye!

I was out on green 2 weeks ago pulling plugs in front of the bible camp and I had a easy 40inch plus muskie on. fought it for a long time before he broke me off at the boat.
