I've learned summers and life in general pass too quickly. Enjoy the time on the water with your kids, take a ton of pictures so you have a date to go along with your memory

I agree with both Deitz and Northlander, also even though I grew up making and tying my own jigs, I really am bad at using them and need to relearn this presentation. Great! Now I feel better. HTB

I learned hammers, screwdrivers, drills, 2x4's, and drywall put a huge damper on how many fish you will catch.

I learned how to fish cheaper and picked up several new places to shore fish. I had a great time fishing this summer. I am a long way from SI but hey, I just had an interview for my boss's job wink.

I learned that I can only fish so much on the shore before I get squeezed out by fellow shore anglers.

So I just financed a boat for the next 8 1/2 years...I will be learning it, this weekend...

So the question would be, how to jack up a trailer to take a brake assisted wheel off and repack the bearings...a lot a learning to do and I'm not a handy man at all.

I have learned that just because you have a boat, lures, and rods and know how to use them does NOT mean you are going to catch'em all the time. Last year was awsome, this year, not so much. Next year should be great.

I've learned that I can't just say "I'll go fishing when I get an open day" anymore.

Now I have to actually plan my times on lake x, y, or Z and MAKE it happen. Otherwise summer is past and I have no good answer about why I couldn't get out there.

We're all busy doing something. crazy

It also helps to have a fellow motivator who will go with most every time.

Thanks, I read that when it was first posted, but it all just went over my head. What's even worse was that I had once did it in auto mechanics class back in middle school like some twenty years ago. I will have to re-read things a few more times.

Ain't that the truth...reason why I want to be a boat so bad too...
I've also learned that when I was younger, I wasted a lot of money...on useless things like reef aquariums...with that money..I could be fishing on my boat right now as I'm typing this...

I learned that despite local beliefs a lake can be over copper sulfated. Permit or not!
