My wife, my buddy and his girlfriend and I headed up to Spring Bay resort on the 23rd of August. A cold front had moved through on Friday night so we expected tough fishing. We headed out saturday evening and fished for pike and managed a 30 and 27 incher. Sunday we hit some smaller pike early and Sunday evening Steve took us out for a couple of hours. Wow what an evening. Even though I didn't catch a musky I had 4 follows and 1 fish on for about 10 seconds on topwater. The rest of the week my wife and I raised about a dozen more muskies with 4 blowups on topraiders and creepers. We also had some nice follows on bucktails. We managed to catch our share of pike with the biggest being 34" and one lost in the upper 30 inch range. We drove from southeast michigan and will definitely be back. The lake is beautiful and even though we didn't land the big one it was one heck of a week. Pretty much all of the fish came on bucktails and topwaters with the exception of a few pike on jakes. We mainly fished deeper weedlines. Hope this helps. Any more questions feel free to ask. If anyone is looking for an excellent resort I highly recommend Spring Bay Resort. Everything was top notch from the cabins to their new boat. All of the Amundsons went out of there way to make sure our stay was a pleasant one.

Everything was top notch from the cabins to their new boat. All of the Amundsons went out of there way to make sure our stay was a pleasant one. I was up there last week with similar reports. Weather was not muskie friendly. Clear skies most of the week with shifting winds. Move muskies on gliders baits and small bucktails on deep weedlines and Islands with small patches of cabbage. Moved a 53"+ monster three different times (same fish). This is the same fish that I moved 5 days in a roll back in July. No muskie action on the rocks. Fished both mornings and nights with no hook ups. We caught alot of pike on rocks. We caught around 30 pike for the week and about 15 of them were between 32" to 37". Some of these fish got caught on outside weedlines. Also caught some nice largemouth bass in the narrows. Brian

Most of the follows and strikes we had were some form of black. Although firetiger and white bucktails caught a lot of pike. I also had a musky smash a frog colored creeper. On sunday night the four follows and one hit I had were between 7:45 and 8:30 p.m. I did see fish during the day but they seemed to be lazy follows. Most of the action came late evening into dark. Although Steve from Spring Bay took us out one afternoon and my buddy had a musky come from under the boat and hit a musky mojo black double bladed bucktail at 2:30 in the afternoon. They are very unpredictable. If your not fishing you ain't catchin. Anyway hope this helps. Most of the fish came off of weedlines.
