What the heck? This year it seems just about every time I go out in my boat here in town, I catch one Walleye...and that's it! I'll catch a lot of other fish, but usually just one Walleye, and I usually catch the one and only Walleye within the first half hour of being out...It's frustrating!

Yesterday I caught a Walleye just under 18" pulling Cranks in 9-10ft of water...Also caught 3 Pike with the biggest measuring around 30"s. I was only able to fish for about an hour yesterday, so I guess it wasn't bad for the amount of time I was out, but I still need to figure out how to put more than one Walleye in the boat per trip...

Oh well, if I fished 6 days in a row...I could have my limit!

If your catching one walleye your very close to the rest of them. walleyes don't swim alone this time of year. they may spread out a little but if your catching one the rest of them have to be close by. If I can catch one walleye in a spot I'll keep going back until I think I have it figured out. Easier said than done sometimes but that's the fun part for me, tring to make them bite. Your a good fisherman catmanlee. You'll figure it out.

I guess that's what I was asking...should I stay and pick at the ame area or move on to find more "active" fish?

Usually I will stay in the same area and fish till the day comes to an end, and usually I will end up catching at least a couple more fish before I'm done. However, I see many boats fishing the river that catch a fish and just keep trucking along? That's why I was asking...thanks.

Guess what I caught yesterday out on the river? Yep...one walleye! mmm,... But I had to come in pretty early because of the weather, so it doesn't count, but still...

I'm gonna keep at it and work over these areas really hard and throw different stuff at 'em, so we'll see what happens.

Spoken like a true fishermen. I want more, more, more, more!!! cry

I think some of my bad mojo rubbed off on you CatMan. Try feeding a family of five with one walleye!

You should be fishing below the dam, down my way, with frogs. You'll catch several walleyes + catfish + smallmouths + goldeye + + + +.

Just leave your boat at my place. I'll take good care of it for you. laugh

After catching one walleye I'd stay. there's only two ways to fish, run-n-gun or stay put. you found fish now to make the rest of them bite.

Canopy Sam, I haven't heard from you in a while...I take it the hole is producing again? I know I should be fishing down there, and I'll be looking at getting down there again very soon. I think I'm going up to Lake of the Woods with Curt this weekend, hopefully I'll get a few bigguns!

Well, I'm not going to Lake of the Woods this weekend, so I'm gonna go down with my boat and hit the river hard. I plan on pulling out all the tricks this weekend...we'll see just how good of an angler I am?

I was going to, but now I need it for fishing this weekend...what a bummer, huh?

If you want to "try" to catch some of those tough eye's above the dam on the river this weekend with me, let me know. I have to work Saturday morning, but I get off at 10:00am, then I'm going fishing.

Talk to you later.

CatMan,

I'm out for a while. Mom's got a big birthday coming up next weekend, and we're having everyone out to our place, so I'm busy getting everything squared away for that.

We've got guests coming this afternoon that will spend the night, so today is shot. I'm going out to find a few frogs right after church as our guests want to catch a few fish this evening behind the house, but I don't have time to do anything else.

I'll let you know how we do. Thanks for the invite. As long as you leave the boat at my place by the time the walleyes start running up the Rainy everything will be fine. laugh

Good Luck! wink
