We are headed up for a few days early next week. What type of minnows should a guy use for walleyes? I'm planning on getting some crawlers too. Will I be better off jigging or live bait rigging? Thanks.

I'll be coming up next week as well. We've traditionally done pretty well with rainbow chubs this time of the year for eyes. I know some guys on here talk about using pike suckers and doing well too. But, definitely have some crawlers as well, it sounds like they are still producing...

I have been using fathead chubs with some success, also crawlers yet.
Good sized rainbows are always a good choice! Pike suckers are also good at times.
Jigs and lindys are both getting fish. Just depends how aggressive that they are.

I have been getting walleyes from 16 feet to around 30 feet this week.

Joe at Northland Bait in Cook. Also Vermilion Trading Co, and Lucky 7 across the road.

If you get down to the central part of the lake, we have a nice supply of suckers minnows and chubs along with a few leeches and lots of crawlers yet.
