Electric chainsaw is all I had...trust me, it's not the ideal tool for the job. Especially since it requires a generator, which weighs another hundred or more pounds and takes up lots of space in the boat!

We did this quite a while ago and I thought I'd finally share it.

Here's the ironic twist.

The water is so low that you really can't even get to that point anymore. Well you can, but let's just say the Solderbloms will be getting a couple more props of mine to fix in the offseason wink

You must really enjoy fishing that river!!

If the water is low is there a chance of burning out some of the snags so they don't cause trouble next year? I suppose you probably could make a career out of this if you wanted to.

I would submit an invoice for the labor and equipment usage to the city and include the written URL to this video. I am sure nothing would become of it, but it at least bring this issue up once again grin

Good job guys! Too bad you did not have a little bigger gas saw to use, but that elec. one did the job.

That is too funny. You know all you guys need to do is ask if you need a saw. I have 4 of them.

I know of a tree in Lesueur that you guys can go remove for me. I would do it myself, but lacking in the boat currently.

Man, the water is LOW now! When we were sent out there to take care of that bad boy the water was over our heads and that entire log was underwater. Coulda taken the entire tree out if the water was as low as it is now. Nice job! Good thing you had an ax to get that pinched bar out, eh?

Is it still illegal to walk across the river on the trestle? I was fishing below the trestle yesterday and saw several fisherman and bow-fishermen walk right across. Could you get a ticket for this, still?

Yup. Still a trespassing sign right next to the tracks. I saw the cops hassling some high school aged kids about a month ago.

Are you kidding? They threw the hammer down that hard on prior trespassing punks? I would have thought it would have been a petty misdemeanor or something even more minor than that!

Well, I guess my wife says catfish are 'gross'...maybe the cops felt the same way. That's weak. Did the hoodlum(s) in question go to court at least and get it reduced that way? wink

When the 4 catfish hoodlums showed up in court, they were only able to find the case file on 3 of them. They told the 4th "if you don't receive any papers in the next week you got lucky." Right off the bat there was a mix up, and the 3 got lucky. They were sent to misdemeanor court. They had their charges reduced to petty misdemeanors and $50.00 fines.

A week passed and the 4th hoodlum hadn't received anything from Carver county. He thought he had gotten lucky and or his Twin Cities underworld connections kept him safe from prosecution. grin Well, he was wrong. The next week he received the criminal complaint and other paper work for the case. He was looking at a max of a year in jail and a $3,000 fine. Dude ended up going to court 2 more times and sat amongst those charged with gross misdemeanors and felonies before he was able to settle with the prosecution for the same as the other 3. The prosecutor told him "Your getting lucky because your buddies got lucky. They were supposed to be charged with gross misdemeanors."....True story.
