Just having liscenses will make people realize it is more serious. The current attitude is go out boating and have a bunch of fun.

[/note] Licensing may sound as a remedy I think it will do anything towards curtailing stupidity or lack of awareness on the water. What it would do is open up the door to further government involvement in our lives. Its bad enough the government know can suspend your license for any minor infraction not even pertaining to driving.

You know, all of this talk about who has the right-of-way in specific situations seems to be missing the big picture. Everyone needs to be more attentive and more courteous out on the water. Just because you have the right of way doesn't mean that you need to use it.

I read it, i know they have the right away. just because they have the " right away " doesnt mean they can cut you off or aim towards you when your trolling a straight line.. sailors are _______ Sorry, that wasn't a shot at you personally. I was just quoting to frame up the general intent of my post. Good luck out there. Like I mentioned, I don't miss that lake very much.

Its all of the people in the cruisers driving way to close throwing huge wake that drive me nuts. These are the same people I'm talking about. I think anyone that has a big boat should spend 1 summer boating in a 12ft boat.
