A guy cannot keep boat on his own shoreline, if vegetation on shoreline to conceal boat. Read below.

Per DNR Regulations
"During open waterfowl seasons, a person may not leave an unattended boat used for hunting waterfowl in public waters between sunset and one hour before sunrise unless the boat is adjacent to private land under control of the person and the water does not contain a natural growth of vegetation sufficient to partially conceal a hunter or a boat."

Stop the madness... Regulations for a duck blind on water are also excessive. 6 duck limit is excessive(no one needs to shoot 6 ducks to have a good time), has anyone looked at the Dakota and MN survey, numbers are down. Finally, 2 wood ducks, whereas every other state in the Union allows 3 this year.

What is the purpose/intent of this rule. Does leaving a boat preempt a public spot? Does it give an owner an unfair advantage? If its pulled up on private shore in heavy cover is it still not ok?Hans

Those are questions probably best answered by the DNR. I've e-mailed them with a few questions this year and they've been very helpful.

If I understand correctly, if there is vegetation(cattails-bullrush), thick enough to conceal a boat, on most waters, that is considered public and anyone can hunt it as long as they are in water deep enough to float a boat.

Flip side is, the game warden would really have to be on a rampage to write you up. I can't say I've ever heard of it happening.

As for the six duck limit, stop at two if you want. If it were 10 ducks I'd be happy with that. I'll take and consume what the law allows.

Why are you crying about 6 ducks then pizzed that you can only shoot two woodducks? Just please do us all a favor and hang up your waders. It's obvious you cant be happy either way.

and the same length season, ice should shut down our season and
nothing else. They go south and get pounded everyday becuase they never have to worry about freeze up. Our season could be
be done by nov 1st if weather is cold enough.
