Where are all the geese at around the area? I was home last weekend and hardly seen any geese just in a few fields. Has anyone been seeing many? I wish I could hunt down here in the cities they are everywhere guess I’ll have to see if I can chase them back toward Atwater lol. Good luck to everyone that goes out.

When does goose open. I used to be about as retarded about bird hunting as I am about fishing now but just from my early mornings on the lake if I where to try to splash some geese I would set some decoys up in the cat tails on green by the calhoun creek. There sure is a yearly decline in the amount of waterfowl though that is why I gave it up cant afford the gas to drive west every weekend.I'm going out fishing this eve and will let you know what is there tonight.

There are geese and a surprising amount of ducks in the area at the moment. Early goose opens on the 6th. This Saturday.
I've seen more geese around in years past, but there's a few. I was scouting one area and saw probably 300. I have seen smaller groups scattered around here and there too.

I just started college here and i have been scouting that past 4 days and have found alot of feilds holding large numbers of geese. Just low numbers of farmers giving persmision to hunt, i have asked now at about 25 feilds and have no permission. Depressing when you get nothing in return for your gas money and time.

Wally got you covered on the hunting and fishing for the fall I grew up in the area and have offspring in college as well and commend you on your devotion to your hobbies and education.Just don't let your hobbies hurt your homework. The nice thing is you can have a line down and write a paper at the same time.Good luck in school and I will ask my daughter if you can use her fish house from time to time

I appreciate the offers meat that would be extremely curtious of you and your daughter. I got everything for fishing from the fl-20 to new strikemaster lazer mag with the 10.5 auger last year and have only got to use it like 3 times. I even put a new canvas on my house last year to but i have nowhere to store it. It sure would be a treat to be able to get out a few times. So lets talk about this hunting now... lol

It is statewide, with some restrictions on hunting over water in a couple of areas.
