That last one is hilarious and shows what happens when he doesn't read off a script.

Yeah these debates should be a hoot.

I wasn't attempting to knock three points off of your list. I chose those three points to demonstrate that the experience you cited isn't significantly greater than Obama having had none. It is like asking who is more qualified to drive NASCAR a sixteen-year old kid whose experience driving is having had a driver's license for six months or a seventeen year old kid that has had a driver's license for a year and worked at the put-n-go prior to that? Both pretty much at the same level.

Did you really mean to say that? If so the argument could be made "At least Obama was senator (of) something," and it would carry about the same amount of merit in a meaningful argument, NONE.

You started off on the right foot but then managed to become successful in talking out of both sides of your mouth. "It is a non-factor, lets take if off the list... but she still has more." It is pretty much like saying "Jim has $1,000,000 and Bob has $1,000,000.02 so Bob is way richer." Umm... NO.

What war are you referring to? The war is ambiguous. If it is WWII that is an assinine statement because the Soviet Union (not Russia) and the U.S. were allies. The Japanese were the ones that occupied the Aleutian Islands. If it is any other war Alaska was not an issue. If it was the Cold(non) War it doesn't mean much because the U.S. was very watchful of the Soviet Union period.

While I am willing to be honest and admit I can't answer "yes" to that question I am also willing to bet you couldn't honestly answer "no" to it either. Especially since it is somewhat ambigious. There is probably a good chance he has had to negotiate something with somebody somewhere.

I haven't decided who I am voting for and I haven't said anything that would indicate who I am voting for. It may not be Obama or McCain. I also never said anything about whether or not you are using common sense. I havent' spun anything but with the statement regarding common sense you definitely have.

What experience did Regan, Clinton or G.W. Bush have before becoming the leaders of the free world. Regan was the Governor of California for eight years and an actor. Mounds of experience towards leading the free world there. crazy To bad Arnie isn't a natural born citizen. Clinton was the Attorney General of Arkansas for two years and Governor of Arkansas for nine years. George W. Bush was the Governor of Texas for a whopping five years.

Political experience isn't the do all end all quality of a good presidential candidate. Experience outside of politics along with intellect and intelligence would also be characteristics of a person that would make a good president.

Well Sandy, 1 of 3 ain't bad. The first one was just badly wrought propaganda (although the altered song was inspired). The third looked like me after a long day of meetings. The second one was actually funny. smile

laugh laugh laugh

Those are the searches for my special alone time blush

Jackpine, I am sure there are some here that are optimistic that you will turn into an Obamican but I know better grin

I forget if I said it here and/or in another thread. I don't care about Palins pregnant 17-year old daughter as it relates to the election, I dont' care about Obama's middle name, I don't care about McCain's married-into beer fortune. I want to know where they stand on issues I consider important; the environment, multiple use of natural resources, energy plans, taxes and fiscal responsibility, the War in Iraq and Afghanistan, etc.

I have not watched one second of either of the national convention. I equate those events to Packer fans cheering for the Packers and Vikes fans cheering for the Vikings. I am going to read various newspapers, magazines and even look at several candidates websites along with a host of other information sources available on the internet. I will likely watch the debates, IMO those are more meaningful as it relates to providing information to my choice as voter.

Caseymcq,

I appreciate the thought (and time) that went into your response. Thank you.

I think things have been hashed and re-hashed here enough, that I'll let it stand.

Time to go fishing.

I will do likewise for the discussion between the two of us and good luck fishing.

We could all answer this all very quickly if Palin would not only come out from hiding and talk to the press....

BUT...

Went further and scheduled a Middle East, and European tour similar to Obama's. Has she ever been to Iraq, or even off the NA continent? Let's see her meeting with the foreign leaders of other countries, and with our troops. She should really immerse herself in the issues of foreign policy as that is the wheelhouse of the McCain candidacy. She could even go to that market in Baghdad that Americans "can walk freely in" or at least "take an unarmoured humvee"

Should be easy for someone qualified to be only a heartbeat away...

I'm pretty sure she has already been to Iraq to visit Alaska National Guard troops stationed there. Too bad the networks didn't follow her. She seemed to be more concerned with her troops than a media op.

I think the GOP candidate for VP has bigger fish to fry than talk to the media right now.
she's smart to stick to the campain slogan and put Country First.

She made it pretty clear what she thinks of the press in her acceptance speech.

Make us proud Palin!

Please explain "bigger fish to fry." I'm just curious as to what she should be doing. Not necessarily disagreeing. I don't get how hiding is really putting country first when we need to get to know her so we can judge whether we want her and McCain in the WH.

I don't quite get how you say she's been hiding as she was just officially launched into the national spotlight only 2 days ago???

Chode, it's really pretty simple.

She just got picked to run for VP
She has to deliver the speech of her life
She has a special needs kid that's 5 months old
She is getting pulled apart like a fly by the bias media
and now needs to prepare for a 60 day battle on the campain trail.
And send her son off to Iraq to serve the country she loves.

Do I really need to go on because I can.
