Hi guys, I'm new to the Brainerd area and looking for a good lake to start finding some fish, havn't had the boat out in about a month so i'm just looking to get my hands slimy again. I'm not looking for anything paticular, northerns, bass, walleyes, whatever i can get to jerk the line, thanks.

troll spinners and crawlers on rice lake, Right in town. Work the weed edge, or the sand island near the river.

Easy fishing.

hey fathead, if you want to go pound some smallies, and lots of them, and big ones, let me know, I will put you on them, dont even need a boat, but now that I think of it, If you want to go in the boat, I can take you to a spot that has some huge fish and loads of them, if you want to go.

Theres some nice smallies in the river. With cooler weather coming there should be some hogs ready to swallow anything. Also there is some pretty good dock fishin on some of the public docks in the area right until freeze up

I was on Roy last week and we got some nice size Northerns, lots of bass, and one Walleye. Lots of boat traffic because Gull was too windy.

You can get into some great bass and pike fishing on just about any lake in the area. The walleyes have been a little slow but are starting to pick up the last couple of days. For walleyes I would try Gull, Pelican or North Long.
