I think tonite I am wrangled into Big Lake nite out or what ever it is called. More likely to be a Sat. nite thing this week end. If you see a green and tan crestliner sportfish 1750 full windshield pulled by a 2007 suburban LTZ white I am there. Name is Nate.

Dougr, did you get out there Fri? How did you do? It was too windy on Saturday and my fishin buddie was no where to be found, so I just picked up some leeches and fish from shore. Hit a few nice Bass, and saw 1 giant sucker floating by. The wind from the north-east made it very diificult to cast.

Nate,

I did get out Fri night. Caught lots of bass on the outside weedline in 15-20fow. Drifted with lindy rig and picked up 2 small pike. Could not find any crappies or marble eyes. The latter is not surprising though. I have yet to catch a walleye on Pulaski. I will figure it out soon.....I hope!

I can help you out on the tecniques of "how to fish" for walleyes. So far this year I have only caught a few on Millacs and 1 on the Crow wing river. I have to believe I am fishing right, the fish are just stupid this year. We will have to hook up sometime and share info..

Anyone been out on Pulaski recently? I was woundering the water temp so far. Hopefully as the water cools we should be able to start picking up some of those beautiful eyes that lake holds. My kids have been hounding me for some. Also how are the weeds and floaties? Last time I was out there you could not run anything more than 10 yards without pulling islands of weeds.

I was fishing it this weekend, also broke down to fishing the docks for bass. The largest caught was 20" long, had several over 16".

So, now I am woundering what is going on. This lake hasn't been this tight with the eyes for a long time. Is it just a wierd year? Did something happen? Did the DNR put something in the water? I don't like it. I want last years Pulaski!!

I truely wonder about the weed killer that is sprayed in the lake during the summer. The company is hired by Pulaski lake home owners, so they can have pretty beaches. Research shows that vast numbers of young walleyes live in these weeds. Both for food and for protection from other fish. The claim is the spray does kill fish, you just can't swim, or go in the sprayed areas for 3 days.

That sounds like an oxy-moron to me. Fish safe, just don't touch the water? Then it is okay to eat the fish that came out of this caustic solution? Fish bioligy will tell you there is a direct link between weed growth and fish health. Healthy weeds=healthy fish. Now the milfoil is not a healthy weed, This I agree with. To put chemicals in the water that we eat fish out of doesn't "jive" with me. I understand that chemicals in our food is "normal" Take McD's. I would not be suprised to find out the Government is having them put trace amounts of toxins in that food just to get rid of it, but to tamper with something that is not man made is just wrong. Kinda liken it to "agent orange" they used in the Korean war and the Vietnam police action. It works really well today, but what are the long term affects of this safe toxin? The purpose of a toxin is to kill. Why do we put it in the water? Eating the fish raised in this toxin we might as well take a nice big drink of it now and get it over with.
Sorry to rant. It just seams funny to me. We can't figure out why autism and down syndrome and retardation is so high, and just continue to dump this stuff in the lake.
I think I need to move to remote areas, now just to find something that is "untouched"..
