There is a thread on Musky Hunter about a 58" 50-55 pound muskie caught in RedGut bay. Does anybody know anything about it?

My bro and bro-in-law and I went there first week in August. We mainly fished walleyes, but did cast with muskie gear in the bays and points during the afternoons, with many small pike and one muskie follow. Then on the last morning, while catching eyes, my brother said "I might be stupid, but I gotta keep trying"... as he is a muskie fool... smile and he put on a walleye colored "believer" and on his first cast caught a 32"er. Then about 5 miutes later he got a 33"er. Not monsters at all, but pretty cool. This was in about a 26 foot hole that we were catching tons of walleyes and sauger and crappie out of. A nice way to end a perfect trip, great weather, great fishing and great scenery!!!

While, I wouldn't say there is alot of muskies in the 'Gut. There is a fishable population though if you know whats going on.

I saw the picture. Definetely not the best quality, but you can tell it's a very nice fish

Is it 58" and 50-55 lbs?? I'll leave the judging to others, but still a nice catch anyways

We were up in Red Gut last weekend and put one 31 incher in the boat and had three others follow. We didn't see any of the big girls but they are in there.
