I have a Cabin near Shamrock Marina and mostly fish close to home for muskies, but never really seem to get any action. My question is are there any Muskies to be found near this area or is it a dead zone?

I usually fish Bestrom Bay area, Greenwood Area, Fectos Rockpile, and Random rock piles and weeded bays.

Should I stop wasting my time here and go far east or even far west or keep trying here? I hear stories of muskies in the area, but have personally not caught one in the area.

newmy, the Greenwood Bay area in particular is reputed to be very good musky water.

newmy,
Any place right now on V that's not a bumper boat area is a good one. If pressure is minimal, I'd definitely stick where you are. Very good waters for sure. Festos, the Black Duck area over to Alepo are all good waters.

Key on main structure areas, turns, and depending on when, look for green weeds still. You're in a little more of a rock area still, but Greenwood may have some weeds still. Might need ot head a little further West to find the thick cabbage.

Good luck!

There are lots of fish to be found in this area of the lake....Greenwood gets hit real hard every year because it is such a good spot. I got word of a dead 52" floating by shore in Greenwood on last Saturday.

My personal best 48" came off blackduck island

I did see a 40 incher or so surfacing off St. Paul island this evening.

Thanks for the info. I got two trips left up to the lake so hopefully I can get a late musky here.
