My son and I are going to Winnie from Sept. 13-16. We have fished Winnie many times in the Spring(June), but never in the Fall. I've kept track of your Fall reports for the past couple of years on Winnie. I keep seeing that the Highbanks Resort area down to the birch trees(going south) are a fairly consistent area for you. I see Muskie bay mentioned often also. Would those be good places to start on Sept. 13? Muskie Bay is just south of the Birches, right? Thanks for your help. I enjoy reading your fishing reports for Winnie, Jason!!

Steve; yes Muskie bay is south of the birches...about 4 miles. You should be able to do the same thing that you do in the spring to catch fall walleyes. Shorelines will be the key with a jig and minnow. Good luck...it is usually pretty darn good this time of year and way less boats.

Jason, GB from Mich here, just met your partner Charlie at Williams Narrows - his words, "tell him you met the better half of this guide team" :-) anyway, if you get this we're hitting the north shore tomorrow to see how it goes but I did talk to some guys today who fished the west shore of cutfoot, 12 foot or water with crawlers who did pretty well on eyes... Charlie was out for crappies today... any luck today?? GB

the walleyes were on the east shore last sunday with that nasty wind in 7-11 ft jigs or cranks worked good. we were on the north shoreup by farly and the tree and did good a few days later. I would see where the wind is and try and get to north shore, stoney, ravens, or the east side too if the wind is right. and they are right about cutfoot starting to get better right around the gap area jig and minnoe in that 10 ft range was working well the other day
good luck
Jason

Thanks Jason - we did well each day - north shore mostly, jig and minnow - went down by high banks today after fishing the n shore in the am, one of only 3 boats in the area, ran the break line with some luck pulling lindy's and a minnow.... anyway, had a great time! now the only thing to say (from my wife) is, Go VIKES!!! :-) GB

GB from Mich-We're going up to Winnie on Saturday for a couple of days. You said that you had good luck on the north shore. Where were you fishing on the north shore? Also what are the sizes of the walleyes that you're catching? We are very excited about trying Winnie in the Fall. Which bait was the best for your walleyes fishing? Thanks for any information.
