Holcombe has been producing some fish, Wissota is slow according to the reports I've gotten - might be deep. I'll have a fresh report for both Thurs morning.

Don't know if we had any boats on Holcombe or not but the gang got 5 fish off Wissota last night ranging from 25-48" - I got the envious task of netting the big girl. A few other follows and misses, I had one on and lost it - never saw it but felt like a decent fish cry mad cry

Our group got a pair last night on Wissota, a 34 and 42", both on topwaters at evening. I'll be on the Eau Claire R tomorrow night and Sat trying for a musky or two. Green water around here.

Ended up with a 36" on Fri night off the sandbar we camped on and then a small 25ish" fish Sat morning. Back to Wissota Wednesday.

Sounds like you're getting a few here and there Cooter. Been up to Shell Lake lately? I need to get there one more time to pay for my year long landing fee. It's $7.00 each time or $20.00 for the year. We've been there twice so we need to go at least once more to save some money. grin

A few here and there is right on the money. Haven't had much time and am limited to local waters. A 40" before bowhunting rolls around would be fine by me.
I've only fished Shell in May after the regular opener, haven't been on there for musky season. Have seen a few though and would love to try it for 'skies sometime. Be sure to give me a report if you fish for those toothies up there.

I tried to talk my grandson into going there yesterday but he wanted to go to Potato Lake for bluegills. The gills are smaller there but there's a lot of them.

I heard that they're getting some nice gills on the cribs in Shell and som walleyes in the bay right in the weeds.Planning on getting there at least once next week, I'll let you know how we do.

Our Muskies Inc league outing was slow last night, one 32" tiger. Gonna give the Chippewa River some TLC next week and see how that goes.

Our group managed a 45.5" on Holcombe and a 40 and 41" on Wissota last night. Not bad, but not great - hopefully with some cooler nights and dropping water temps things should pick up. Of course for me about prime time archery opens and the musky rods start collecting dust.....just not enough time for everything.

the muskie fishing wasnt what i had hoped on our trip up north. only saw a couple fish in the three days, but we ended up spending quite a bit of time walleye fishing and doing quite well. regardless, the weather was beautiful and it was good to be back in wisconsin and out on the lake. hopefully i will make a few fall trips up north to try to put one more ski in the boat for the season...

Out of curiousity, which lakes did you fish? I broke my fishless streak behind the house and got a 43" Fri night on the Chippewa R. 40" was my goal this year so I'm happy with that, time left for an upgrade!

Our group got a 41.5 and a 35, one on Holcombe and one on Wissota last night. I'm gonna hit the backyard again tonight. Have a new crawler/creeper bait a bud made that sounds great(to me) in the water - we'll see if the muskies agree...
