There is a big difference between your local animal shelter and the hsus. The hsus are just like peta.

There is a careful distinction that needs to be made between the Humane Society & the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). HSUS is an animal rights group along the lines of PETA.

While this is true, how would we feel if he said nothing? I think it's important for a candidate to tell us what he would like to acheive. Nothing is guaranteed and they don't have the power to force anything they want. The only thing they can do it try their best. Succeed? Maybe. Fail? Maybe. They have to start somewhere and stating a goal is the first step.

The hardest part for me is that they are never able to tell us precisely how they plan to acheive those goals. That would be political suicide and they are practicing smart politics by not doing so.

For example, last night he stated that he would clean up wasted spending. Everybody gave him the thumbs up for that one but unfortunately he doesn't dare tell us what he defines as waisted. I'm guessing that if he did he'd probably lose a lot of supporters and perhaps gain others. The truth is it never works for a politician to be that specific. You just can't appease enough people if you do and your chances of winning the election are basically thrown out the window. If you don't believe me, try running for public office by being descriptive and pointed and see how far you get.
