I generally stay south of the kinni. Lindy's with crawlers have worked for me. Didn't get any eyes last week, but the week before managed a couple. Good luck and let us know how you do.

I was out Friday 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM fishing from Prescott to the Kini. Caught 1, 8" Sauger and 1, 13" Walleye. Both were caught on crank baits in 22-25 FOW. I spent most of the time dragging around crawlers, leaches, and minnows. I did not catch any Walleyes on the live bait but I did manage a 3 lb catfish, 2 nice crappies, 4-5 stripers, and multiple sheepies. Most of the fish were caught on leaches behind a silver spinner.
It has been a while since I fished live bait and one thing I really noticed is it is hard to beat that feeling each time you get a bite and having to make a decision of when to set the hook. When you are towing cranks there is no decision to be made or time to think about it, just reel it in and see what you caught. I will still tow crank baits but after today I will definately be running livebat more often. I had forgot how fun live bait can be.

I agree with Walli1. Live bait is what I do. I'll do some cranks, but only if I can't get anything on the bait.

especially on the river live bait is always an option but in the fall cranks work well too, but it will soon be big minnow and rig or jig time on the Croix

anytime is the right time to be on the river as a matter of fact I'll be on the river in less then 6 hours just can't seem to be able to sleep that and i know nice redtails are waiting to go hunting for walleyes soon, nothing like the chugging of a redtail on the end of the line!

It never hurts to have more than one weapon in your arsenal! My presentation changes as the season progresses. May and June is lindy time for me on the river, then typically once the first part of July moves in and the walleyes scatter along the shorelines and breaks, it's hard to beat running leadcore to search, one can always slow down and finesse them after some are located. Then once mid-September rolls around, jig an minnow is my go to, along with stick baits on 3-way rigs. It's fun to fish with different tactics throughout the season, keeps things fresh, and I usually do whatever it takes to keep the sheepshead off my line! Good luck out there tomorrow guys! I prolly won't be out till Sunday morn!

Should be great but doesn't look Like I'll get much rest tonight, guide trip in the morning think its just the added pressure of having to produce fish let you know how it goes, plenty of time to sleep once you take a dirt nap
