I know cats have been going well, and very big up North. The fall sumo hunters are getting ready to rock on them Lockport legends so updates are always kewl. Lets try to thread up some reports and feedback on conditions and trends.

First off, we gots to ask "Da Man", Stu McKay, what his take is on the bite and conditions.

Ya out there Stu?

Thanks,

The river's in great shape right now. The kitties have been and will continue to be cooperative for the next few weeks or until the end of September. Frog's & goldeye have been producing well and tullibee will be coming into to play anytime now.

The conditons are looking very good as far as the fall "greenback" run is concerned. Sauger have been running (on schdule) for a few weeks and there's been a few 'eyes showing up as well.
The south basin (shorelines) of Lake Winnipeg has been very productive for 'eyes through much of the summer. Those who have been willing to take advantage of this opportunity have not been disappointed. When fishing the lake in search of 'eyes, simply focus your efforts along the shorelines in depths of 3 - 5 feet. Trolling a wide variety of lure presentations is by far the most productive method for locating 'eyes. Trolling boards are also a good bet although they aren't totally necessary to enjoy success. I'm planning a walleye trip our on the lake very soon. If I have decent success I will be glad to post a report......

3 words on Stu's prize cats this year...They are FAT!

Had a great time up at Cats on the Red with a crew from all over the USA.

Get this...every person in the party got there 5 masters, and one hit the 40" mark. Many ><,sumos,> between 36 to 37". They are putting on the pork for sure.

September is a great time for some records guys, lots of cats to be had yet....FAT Cats!

(Primo Sumo pics soon to be downloaded)

Thanks again Stu and crew for the great service and accommodation.

See ya soon when them Greenbacks move in to play.

Here is Chicago Nick with a one of his many ><,sUMo,> kittys from last week.

Here is another from Mike F Nicks partner in sumo cat hunting, what a brute Eh.

And the born again hard, Leslie..AKA..Da "Catwoman", with one of here many kitty's she took to task on the trip.

That's just 3 from some 200 plus chubby kittys put in the net last week.

That's a heap of fun...Eh!!

grin

OK, I just can't resist sneaking just one in of me too. A purdy Cokn'n Kitty.

Here are a few more shots to enjoy. It is truly a world class channel catfish fishery, which everyone with a passion for fishing should try at least once.
