Usually 3 nice places to access the ice from the Glenwood end. City Beach, Lakeside Ballroom, and DNR landing. Heaves are pretty typical but the city takes off the edges and fills in with sand on a fairly regular basis to maintain the landings.

Plows you are on your own, unless you go out of Hunt's resort located near the DNR landing. There's usually a road to follow because there's a lot of houses out there all winter long.

Sunfish can be had all winter off the "wall" which runs midway beween the DNR landing and the Lakeside landing.

Eye bite is spotty. I've had my best luck in the overnight hours when it quiets down on the ice. Either that, or find your own spot away from the crowds because the eyes are spooked with all the noise around the "wall".

Hunts resort will plow you out for a fee should you get stuck. I wouldn't count on having anyone willing to scrape you a path out on the ice, but that doesn't mean it won't happen. You're basically on your own, no more pampering.

Pike, yes they're everywhere near the wall. Definitely worth dunking a shiner during the day just for the action if nothing else. Keep a camera down there too, and you'd be amazed the number of fish swimming by that aren't interested in feeding during the day time hours. Walleyes are there all day, but just checking out the noisy conditions apparently.

The break-ins do happen unfortunately. Typically during the late night hours after bar closings (2-4am). Seems every year I hear of a dozen or so break-ins around the lake. People are pretty friendly, but I don't know of any sort of neighborhood watch program that covers 2-4am timeframes.

Come ice up, things do get tight lipped with the walleye bite but there's so many sunfish (yes, true sunfish) around the wall area that it's no secret to pass it around.

No pout, crappies come to the wall during the evening hours (commonly referred to as crappie town)
