Some say the squeaky wheel gets the grease. In actuallity the squeaky wheel gets replaced.

Grease is to stop the wheel from even starting to squeak. Once metal to metal contact has been made, it's only a matter of time before it ends up in the dumpster.

Had we taken that advice in the 60's, we'd still be in Viet Nam, we’d still have rivers catching on fire, we'd still have air quality warnings and equal rights would never have been born. Freedom of speech is what separates this country from all others, It's what makes America great.

I'm not saying don't protest. I said in a previous post that if you feel the need to do so, then go do it......legally and peacefully.

Getting punted into jail accomplishes nothing.

Of course protesting in taken in the form of talk radio must be regulated and controlled, which is why the Dems are all hot to trot on resurrecting the "Fairness Doctrine."

Didn't Orwell warn of such things?

No, let them. The more of them in jail means the more water for me to fish and land for me to hunt.

You have to be kidding. So I take it that you do not care about a criminal record. I know I am very proud of not have a criminal record except a traffic violation. I guess other people don't find that a good character reference.

I agree that you should be able to protest, have at it. I just think when you are sitting in the middle of a street making everyone lives miserable that are just trying to get home is just childish and very disrespectful. You have to grow up! Do it peacefully and stay within the laws.

You need to check out the Cliffs notes for 1984. Orwell warned us of Bush's warrant-less wiretaps.

Oh yes, the Vietnam days. I remember being a nine year old in a university city and watching the "protests." I think they are actually called riots. It was as hard for me to understand then as it is now. People were carrying signs and screaming for peace while throwing rocks and bricks through windows, overturning cars and starting fires. Where does peace come into that? It has been almost forty years and I still don't get it.

What do you mean you don't get it? Haven't you heard, that's how they stopped the Vietnam war. wink

For all of us that live our lives in the true spirit of freedom.

See you there.

p.s.
If you're watching the news of the protest and you see a guy not carrying a sign, that's me.

I hate the protests just as much as the next guy, especially the over the top stuff that gets out of hand. The biggest thing that irks me the most are the paid or career protestors.

However the right to protest is a big one and to say that nothing gets done because of it?
There was this little thing called the Boston Tea Party that would suggest otherwise.
