LMIT - You sound like a broken record.

Give me an example of any tax that has requirements, guarantees, guidelines, accountability, etc. that you require.

Then here are the rules for all to read.

The funds generated are to be divied as follows - 33 percent annually would be spent on clean water, 33 percent on fish and wildlife habitat, 19¾ percent on the arts and 14¼ percent on parks and trails.

A citizen's oversight committe will oversee spending of the funds as follows:

(1) two public members appointed by the senate Subcommittee on Committees of the Committee on Rules and Administration;
(2) two public members appointed by the speaker of the house;
(3) four public members appointed by the governor;
(4) two members of the senate appointed by the senate Subcommittee on Committees of the Committee on Rules and Administration; and
(5) two members of the house of representatives appointed by the speaker of the house.

8 of the 12 committee members will be appointed as stated above using an OPEN APPLICATION PROCESS, meaning all can apply to be considered for selection by either the governor, senate subcommittee, or speaker of the house.

For those folks interested in applying, an application can be found here:

MN Secretary of State Open Appointments Form

I don't see those taxes being a 3/8th pile-on either. wink If you're going to be piling on another 3/8th then there better be some fairly substantial guidelines and accountability......not a blank check.

LMIT - I think you are the only one that seems to think this is some sort of blank check.

.... still waiting for that example of your acceptable tax.

That's why people don't want this amendment.....they don't know the rules!!

If this doesn't pass you SIR are solely to blame/congratulate for it!.... grin

Great debate!.... Personally I'll take what I believe is the lesser of Evils and CHANCE voting FOR this Bill like I think the majority of Sportsmen and outdoor people will be doing also.

I do commend all who continue to fight what I believe is an up hill battle as to how OUR Governments collect and use our Tax revenues, it is appreciated.
Good Luck on that one!

Let us not forget what Roosevelt once said:

Democracy is the worst form of government other then all the rest

Not at all Johnny you are VERY young and LMITOUT is very seasoned and like a lot of us who have witnessed first hand years of deceitfull, corrupt and wastefully spending of OUR tax dollars.
Some day you'll maybe thank people like LIMTOUT who at least try although mostly in vain to have some accountabilty!

I am VERY young huh? How old do you think I am? How old are you?

The idea that I am older so I know better, is total crock of bull. I know a lot of VERY old people that don't have any idea what is going on.

Accountability, I am all about. I just don't think LIMT's ideas are feasible and I don't his standards can ever be reached.
