My kids want to go out tubing behind the boat this weekend, I realize this is labor day weekend, so is there a local lake that wouldnt be to busy, and one that is big enough for tubing. Preferablly one that I wont [PoorWordUsage] off to many fishermen as well. Typically I would hit Washington, Madison Lake, but I figured these lakes will be busy!

Thanks for any info!

Reeds Lake is a nice little lake for this. Nice and quiet and usually the only ones on the lake are the homeowners. Sweet little lake.

Last year on Labor Day I drove to about 5 differant lakes to find a spot to take my daughter fishing for a little while and we ended up on Elysian. It was the only lake that didn't have a full landing.

Reeds has been full of bass fisherman for the past month straight...

I'd try one of TO's reccomendations. He might be able to tell you which one of those lakes is less likely to be pea soup. (if any)

I was by Clear in Lex the other day and my wife choked from the smell that lake was producing! Or maybe I ripped one in the car not sure. Believe it or not Elysian doesn't seem to be all that green this year and I am sure Volney won't be all that bad either!

At least in Southern Minnesota, we can usually find a lake just by using our nose....

Sorry my response was so catty - I'm just frustrated about this Lake Lura thing. I guess I'm surprised that people aren't screaming at the top of their lungs about some of these issues....

(I'll step off my soap box now!)
