I am considering the Big V for a couple 2 or 3 days of musky fishing in September. A couple of questions: 1) what side of the lake moves fish more consistently? 2) is rock or weed structure different from one side of the lake to the other? 3) do most people fish rocks or outside weedlines in mid September? 4)Does the night bite produce better than day time considering most recreational boaters will be gone by then? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

You can catch muskies well on both ends. If you are more comfortable in weeds go west. You should still have lots of good weeds then. If you like rocks go east. There are no weeds to speak of so most of us work rocks on that end. Recreational boating is hardly a problem up here compared to elsewhere so thats not really the issue. Night fishing has been good again this year but in September you can certainly do just fine during the day so plan on doing some of that. The great thing about our lake is that it's so big and varied and uncrowded (so far) that you have many options and can try a lot of different approaches and just see what works.....
