MY wife and I spend several weeks a year at forest lane. We have stayed at several other resorts over the years we've been coming to Vermilion but We have pretty much made Forest Lane our second home the last few years. You can't beat Dave & Pat the cabins and grounds are well kept, Even fishing from there docks in the evening is good. They don't have alot of the stuff the bigger resorts have like swimming pools and saunas and there rates show this. But if your looking for a resort with all the features of a small well run and well kept fisherman frendly resort I'd have to give Forest Lane an A+. check out there web site.

Dave and especially Pat Lamwers go out of their way to make guests at Forest Lane feel like they are part of the family.

We've stayed as guests there now for the past two years and we're booked for another visit next year.

The cabins are all well situated and very clean. There are some great walleye spots within easy boating but best of all was when Pat sent over some fresh baked treats to our cabin. It sure doesn't take long to fall in love with the place. I'm sure there are more posh, and expensive, places to stay but if you're interested in fishing the Tower end of the lake, Forest Lake is a smart choice.

By the way, if you're thinking about really getting to know the lake, you can't do any better than booking a trip with Cliff W. I treated my Dad and an older brother to a late summer/early fall trip a couple of years ago and we not only had a great time but learned alot that has served us pretty well since then.

Of course there's always more to learn!

We just got back from Forest Lane. We had a great time as usual. You won't go wrong staying with Dave and Pat. Pat is a sweetheart and brought over some cookies.
Last Sunday night the 17th was a treat. We were catching walleyes at the mouth of Everett Bay and listening to Alice Cooper live in concert. He was at the casino playing outside. Life is good, what a great trip.

Ditto to what all have said about Forest Lane, great place, great people, great location!

If you take your boat rent a lift, it can get a little rough with the waves.

Booked my trip this morning for July 4th-11th. Hopefully next spring isn't as wacked out as this one was weather and temperature wise.

GREAT RESORT AS SAID! ONE THING TO KEEP IN MIND, IF YOU USE A LIFT, YOU'LL NEED TO GET YOUR BOAT ALL THE WAY OUT OF THE WATER OR BIGGER WAVES MAY DAMAGE THE LIFT.
HAVE A PLAN "B" FOR YOUR BAITWELL/ LIVEWELL INTAKE OR BRING A MINNOW BUCKET.

Vermilion Fox,

Noticed you were from Florissant Mo. I lived in Black Jack and went to Highschool @ Hazelwood Central High. Played football with a guy named named Tony Vanzant. We beat out a Kansas City Mo. team in 1985-86 for the State Championship @ Busch Stadium. Those were awesome times! I miss quail hunting on my buddies dad's farm. Minnesota is a great place though. The fishing here is amazing and I am certified crazy over the walleye! Its funny how just seeing your location brought back a flood of memories. Thanks for that!

Doug,

Glad to bring back some memories for you. My youngest brother played on the Central team until 1984, I think (my memory is foggy). I remember Tony Vanzant.

I agree with you Minnesota is awesome! We have some pretty good walleye fishing here in Missouri too.
