I fished walleye's growing up on cutfoot, and don't know probally fished the lake 100 times, well that was 12 years ago, now I've converted more into a tournament bass guy. Anyway taking the family up labor day weekend to pass on the tradition that my parents and grand parents did for me, and of course will chase walleye's, but during the middle of the day wanted to try to get a good bass plan together, any help out there.

I've catch a few every year while fishing pannies the week we are up there. Most are in weed pockets in 6-10 FOW. I have seen quite a few guys fishing the weeds and slop in the channel area between Williams Narrows and the 46 bridge. One guy was out almost every morning fishing that area. Looked to be throwing a buzz bait from what I could tell. All the bass I have caught have been nice. Good luck.

I would put in and fish Sand Lake for the bass,we took a dandy last year,it was 8.2 lbs.in shallow water, off a point, north side of big island. That was around Memorial day,pre-spawn fish.Sand is a real sleeper on bass.I picked up a few this year down in the far east end down by where the lake goes under the road.We fished on Cutfoot last year and have caught some decent bass all the way up in the east end, tough to get baits thru the wild rice but the bass are there in the weed pockets.Almost impossible to fish regular baits in there,I would go with wacky rigged senko's with the point buried in the worm to hold down on the fouled baits! Good Luck!!!

I've heard sugar lake can be real good, never tried it myself but I've read other people posting about it. It's on the west side of winni, connected to the lake. I've also heard there's a good amount of 'em in Bowstring, in Cow Bay and all through the river. Some of the smaller area lakes, especially towards marcell, are great bass lakes and they are extremely underfished. Most of my favorites are east of North Star Lake, not too awful far from winni.
