good morning I was wondering if anyone is familiar with the following area.

heading on 169 towards belle plain after you pass jordan, right after the APPLE ORCHARD place is an adjacent land that i saw some signs on looked like the ones with ducks on it or whatever. I was wondering if that is a legal area to bow hunt for deer. I tried looking on the DNR COMPASS and It doesnt list it at all.

That is MN Valley National wildlife refuge land. Some of it is open to certain game and some of it isn't check their website or pick up a flier that they have available at most parking locations along the refuge.

that is the problem i have checked their maps, and dnr compass and its not listed but there are definetely signs on there? i have been to the lawrence, louisville, carver, rapids lake units so on and so forth and kind of know those places. ill have to drop by and check out the signs and get more details

PRIM (public hunting area) maps, and your 2008 Hunting and Trapping handbook are good sources for the information you are looking for. From what I was reading I would say the area you are describing is closed.

I know when turkey and deer season roll around, the private land around it has a lot of people on it.

my reason for asking is that i saw around 25 deer on one evening drive in that area about 4 months back

I can believe that. The area holds a lot of wildlife.

the land rite after the apple orchard on the riverside of 169 is all private.I know the area and have asked several times and have been denied the land owner hunts it..

I used to hunt some private land there, but there are too many people tresspassing without permission who try to sneak in there. My cousins family owns some of the land and he won't hunt there anymore after almost getting shot. The CO and sheriff keep a close eye on it now. Don't get caught down there without written permission from the right person who's land your on.

I'm pretty sure it is a no hunting zone. If we are thinking of the same property.
