So how many FMers are fishing this event? How many are in the Fishermans Corner pool? Im taking the $1000 for the biggest walleye so the rest of you guys figure out who is taking 2nd - 10th. Always lots of good prizes and this year without Ripstick fishing it and to follow I may have to actually do some work. I may actually do some down rigging this year. Best thing is the Boyscouts get the proceeds and I think it was like $1500 raised last year. Ripstick does that sound right to you?

I had a good time fishing with Randy..we caught a FEW fish, but nothing to put on the scale. Good to get on the water with freinds. I hope someone will post the final standings.

I dont have exacts but I know 1st - 3rd were all 7 plus pound fish. 10th was like 3.6 or in that area. What a difference a day made. Big blow gets done and the big boys came up off the bottom to swallow cranks. From now on all I do is pull spinners fast and cranks slow. On Island that is. It was a hard day of fishing on Sat with the winds making it hard to stay on spots. Sunday was a almost perfect walleye day. See everyone next year. I will post the final results as soon as Scotty gets them to me. If you cant wait call Fishermans Corner. They should have them.

It was a fun tournament and other than my partners "wardrobe malfunction" it went pretty well. We finished 10th.
It was good to see some fellow FMer's there. Loon-a-Sea, Northlander, Surface Tension, Wade, and several others I didn't get a chance to talk to. The wind on Saturday afternoon caused a lot of us to change tactics. We came up with about 40 fish for the 2 days but couldn't boat a big "Money Fish." There's always next year. Anyone interested in an FM members contest sometime? Just a thought.

Mark I would run one but it would not on Island Lake. Maybe on the St. Louis River/Lake Superior? Have a walleye division and a trout division? 50/50 split and winners take all. I think this is our best option. The river will surely be a challenge this time of year and the big lake always depends on weather. If it blows you can always fish the river. It would have to be small enough to not require a permit though. Anyone else with ideas on a good walleye lake not far from Duluth. My Aug is almost plum full as of now but I may be able to sneak out for 1 day out of my 8 day family vacation. Mark you always seem to bring out the best in Dick. The only thing I ever had on that was heavy was the rock me and Frank brang out the show net for. Funny how many boats that brang around. That and pretending to toss a nice northern in the livewell sure got some peoples attention. Had to have some fun to keep it light or I would have gone nuts waiting for a big bite. How many guys want to fish a 1 day friendly contest? If we get enough guys on here in the next week to make it worth my while I will set it up.

I,m in but on the river? We'd have to figure out a way to handicap you. You'd have to backtroll left handed or something. What about Fish Lake sometime in September? I bet Timmy would support something. I went to pick up my Rod From Fisherman's Corner and found out that we took 10th. It covered bait and gas anyway. If we can get something going let me know how I can help. ( Even on the River)

I won a rod as a door prize!!! ,,,so that paid for the entry fees and then some ,,,another great few days fishing,,, coulda done without the wind saturday but it kept the bugs away I think a Sept contest on the river would be fun ,,,with an option for the big lake weather permitting I didnt catch any thing to put on the scale but I did get a nice tan

Steve/Mark, I'd be in for a one day friendly FM contest on Fish. I do have a couple Rainy weekends committed already for August but if it worked out it would be fun to have a summer get-together. If I dont have to bring Junior I'd have an open spot for someone in my boat. We'd still have to find a way to handicap you and Frank tho, like maybe confine you guys to fishing from shore only???

Xplorer, two guys in a boat wanting to do two completely different presentations is a big enough handy cap. Steve was very good about it though. The high winds put us off our game plan. It was either move to a protected area or stay where we knew there were fish, that meant anchor up and tuff it out. We did good on deep water mid lake structure. Its not that often when 14-16" eyes are not what your looking for. As a bonus Northlander/Perch Slayer had the big perch dialed in.
