Oh, you mean the continual growth of the GDP under Bush? Looks like Harvey was right then.

Yes, that blistering Bush economy is quite a spectacle... Continual growth is for sheeple, pipe dream from the get go IMO. The old fed can print money. Too bad they can't print energy to drive the whole party (charade.)

The Fed has been printing money to excess for many, many years now. And Congress has borrowed more on top of that.

Hence, a devalued dollar. And on international commodity markets (see: oil) the devalued dollar buys very little.

Hence, $130-odd per barrel for oil.

Of course, on international commodity markets where the US is a seller (see: Corn, wheat, et al) we start looking better with higher prices for our goods.

I thought I would throw this out there. Follow the money trail of McCains former co-chaire Phil Gramm. McCain is surrounding himself with likes of these money grubbers. That scares the heck out of me. And your afraid of assumptions of what Obama will do. Just look at what Gramm has done. Boy Gramm sure slitherd away in the quite didnt he. I think McCain was lucky the media focussed on Obama's trip east other wise McCain's true econmic polcy might have come to light.

A recent public opinion poll said that they'd trust McCain with the economy over Obama.

I dont take stock into polls ,you can influence the pole by asking the a particular qustion in a particular way.

Like say adding info like Gramm to the questions can sway the opinion

You got a link to that poll, or a hint as to how we can find it?

On a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being "very good", 12 economists gave McCain's proposals higher marks, while nine rated the two candidates equally and eight preferred Obama's policies, according to the poll released on Wednesday.

The survey, conducted this week, found that 21 of the economists polled thought McCain would be better for the stock market in the first year after the election, while six chose Obama and two gave no response.

Economists were polled, not the general public as I had mentioned. Either way, the pro's picked McCain. Take whatever you wish from that but I'd like to think they know more than the public when it comes to how the economy is going to be turned around....

I found it, thanks.

From the poll: "The economy has supplanted the Iraq war as the main issue in the November presidential election between Arizona Sen. McCain and Illinois Sen. Obama."

It's about time, and like the old political saying goes; "It's the economy stupid"

That's good news for Obama. Voters trust him to handle the economy more than McCain.

From Gallup:

Two issues top the list, based on the percentage rating each as extremely important in choosing between candidates: energy/gas prices and the economy. (Energy has spiked in its importance to voters in recent months as gas prices have risen to the $4-per-gallon level.)

Obama has a clear advantage over McCain on both of these top two issues. Americans give Obama a 19-point edge over McCain as best able to deal with energy, with 47% choosing Obama and 28% McCain. On the economy, Obama has a 16-point margin over McCain, 48% to 32%.

Even fox news has Obama in the lead.

It's going to be a looooong eight years for you.

Gore and Kerry were also in the lead at this time.
