Yeah, it's different for us down here, isn't it??? Others may call structure a rock pile, or a 10 foor drop off, or a big hole, or who knows what.

In SW MN, structure could very well be a 4 inch channel, and that's exactally where I caught my crappies tonight. Sometimes we need to think ouside the traditional box when it comes to structure. I'm not telling yous guys stuff most of you don't already know. But, don't overlook the LITTLE things as the little things could very well be the ticket.

I've been fishing this lake for years, and didn't know this little pocket even existed. Who cares right??? It's only a little 4 inch channel. Guess what, that little 4 inch channel brought on a bunch of crappie fun for me and my son this evening.

Not braggin, just sayin here in the prairie things are different than a lot of other places. When you are looking at the graph and see a tiny little bump or hole, it very well may be worth fishing it.

i totally agree on the prarie bowl concept of structure...my favorite spot is on that style lake, a lone fieldstone in the middle of a mud flat....myself and 2 other people know about it and it must be the "walmart" of that flat because multiple species of fish are taken off that spot every spring, fall, and winter! god bless the "mark waypoint" on the gps!

I agree, transistions are usually when I catch my fish..... Transitioning from sitting on my duff to standing to take a leak, or opening a soda, or putting in a chew, or anything else besides fishing.

inattentiveness is the best technique!

Boy, MUC I agree there. Anything that you can do to look away or get distracted, usually will work. I also think that if you use more expensive gear when not paying attention, will result in a run to catch it before it goes out the boat.
