i just had to say it! I've been thinkin' about draggin the fishtrap across bald eagle... just wishing that i didn't have to pay 30 bucks just in gas to haul the boat... picken a spot to set up a couple holes,settin up the propane tank, settin up the vexilar, settin up the cam, zipping the door shut, turnin on the radio, reaching in to the bait bucket, and watching my spring bobber! am i crazy? not sure, but anyone with me on this one?

Gotta go with Juan Grande on this one. I do love to ice fish and it is awsome when there isn't boat traffic and bugs but some of the best fishing of the year is coming in the next couple months. Trolling for piggy eyes in the fall is a blast and the bugs and boat traffic is nearly nil. Can't think of to many dyas where you can hunt in the a.m. fish the afternoon and then hunt or fish again in the p.m. but we have that opp in Mn in the fall. Nope, winter will get here soon enough but it never hurts to prepare early!

Love ice fishing, but I love being on the boat more. I'll finish up the boat season as I go into October. Then just a short wait to get on the ice.

The lakes can't freeze soon enough! As the penguin said in batman returns..."stop global warming! start global cooling! turn the world into a giant ice cube!" I like ice fishing, what can I say?

I can wait for ice....I love being on the boat too much! I gotta say though....the boater traffic is starting to get pretty bad with water/air temps where there at.

I been wanting to ice fish too, this summer fishing is not my favorite, too much sun and heat for me. Fall, spring, and ice fishing are the best, and were almost there!

I started my Auger this last weekend just for kicks, that smell of auger gas was like a sweet purfume!!!

Don't get me wrong I like watching a walleye hit on the vex and seeing the white tail below the ice, but I love open water more way more. It's easier to move around without packing up everything. Plus topwater lures work better on liquid. I do agree on the boat traffic, but that will be dieing down soon once labor day hits.

As soon as the ice forms, they will quit complaining about the boat traffic and asking everybody what kind of an idiot would drive his duece & 1/2 across 8 inches of ice while I am out there sitting in my clam.

Been having dreams about icefishing for the last couple of weeks, love the early ice solitude and lack of BUGS (along with the great fishing)!!!
