But there's a point where the fog just gets too thick for any light to penetrate it. Yeppers... ain't that the truth If it gets too thick, some people say it can be easier to just drive slow with the lights off. I've never had fog thick enough that driving in the dark seemed like a better idea, but I guess in theory it could be possible. I've had too many nights where the fog was too thick to see anything. I take it slow in the dark putting all my trust into my Lowrance GPS and my knowledge of that part of the river. I mark hazards and snags on the GPS with icons so I know to prepare for them. I'll also have a series of trails on the GPS showing the best route. Stick to the trail and you are usually good. Its usually a nerve racking trip back though. GPS is your friend.

I have never been a fan of anything rechargeable, over something that can be plugged in. Sounds like Brian got that licked with this unit.
I will admit I also have a $9.99 Wal-fart 1,000,000 spot light also. It serves its purpose. The down side to this unit I have found is the heat it generates. The one I purchased this year has a button that springs back to off. The one I had last year had a switch from on to off. Well, at the KOTC GT last year, my spotter left it on and put the light face down on my carpet in my boat and burned a round circle. O.K., I figure the one this year has a spring switch to off. Sure enough after a long us a couple trips ago, it was put on the carpet lens down and burned another (slight) hole even when it was turned off.
My point is I like Brian’s new unit, because it would seem hard to do this with this unit. Also this unit I would assume does not put out as much heat as my unit.
