Hello all,

I'll be camping at Lake Bemidji State Park next weekend for the first time. Any good shore spots? I know the lake is pretty huge, so would fishing from a canoe be possible? Bemidji is a musky lake, but we're happy to catch anything at all. Are there any fish in Big Bog Lake inside the park? No secret spots needed, just general areas, tips, etc...

You can catch walleyes, perch, pike, etc.. from the dock right there at the State Park in Bemidji. Otherwise there are some decent spots in waders, and the fishing pier on the Mississippi River between Bemidji and Irving, down by Paul and Babe.

The cabbage beds out from the State Park and most of the shoreline cabbage and sand holds fish, and these areas are easily accessible by canoe or kayak as long as there isn't a strong South wind.

Lake Bemidji is great for big perch, walleyes, pike, as well as muskie!

Yes and no... The Mississippi river holds some, and the bullrushes near the river hold some as well, but the lake doesn't have a population worth chasing IMO. If you took your canoe/kayak into the river you'd have some luck I'm sure.

Maybe just hook up with Matt. I am sure he would find some fish for you to catch.
