We used to fish shell about 10 or so years ago and I remember the south east side of the lake seem to produce a few nice sun fish. I dont remember haveing any real great luck out there but it was Ok. What I do remember is Island lake is not to far down the road from Shell and that is a pretty good lake for pan fish and walleye. not even sure where we fished out on island but I can say if you go out there watch out for big rocks. I think they were marked with bouys but not sure if they still are. sorry to get off subject but thats my 2 cents worth.

Shell lake is pretty much a big bowl, with a maximum depth of 16 feet. Used to fish in that area, and mostly remember it being known as a northern-panfish lake. We also fished Island down the road and caught some nice eyes there.
