I will be up next weekend for 3 days at the in-laws cabin off Stoney. I am yet to catch my first muskie and will be giving it a try. Should I be sticking to weeds yet or are the rocks going to be a better bet? Any preferred baits for you?

For the eyes, are leeches the ticket yet? I tend to troll a lot of cranks up there but want to do something different if I can.

i was just up on traders over the week and we joined the little city of boats by goose island. we trolled in about 8 to twelve feet of water with shad raps and hooked into a 22, 21, 20, 17, 16, 14, and 13 inch eyes. We also caught a lot of tiny perch on them. I saw a couple pontoons anchored up and fishing with slip bobbers that caught some. we tried trolling and jigs tipped a with leeches and crawlers with no luck.

Whenever I go up there I hear that Stoney is going good. But I have only caught a few there while the neighbors come over and tell me they limited out in an hour with a few thrown back as well. I must be missing something there.....

I went there on the 9th and was there today. I would say that fishing is good. We had 20 on the 9th in about 4 hours and
was out there from abot 9:30 to 4:30 and we caught 15. 4 were
really nice fish. I saw a few people cranking on the 9th that
were catching fish. Rigs and crawlers worked best for me.

Thanks for the input guys. I will be out this weekend in a green and tan lund explorer. Sounds like I will be on Stoney and the rocks. Maybe we will see ya there.
