Ok, it is only the summer league but i decided to watch the 1st summer league game on nba website. After 1st half O.J.Mayo looked great with at least 3 highlight film shots- oneat the buzzer at the end of 1st half.

Kevin Love after one half looks like he is out of his league. Last one down the court on almost every possession. Turning the ball over and forcing up 3 pointers that are not even close.

now i know it is only summer league and just one half, but after watching this i am sick to my stomach. in my very honest opinion we messed up--- should have kept the Mayo

Sounds like he was much better in the second half and he finished with 18 points and 13 boards.

Still, I'm a little worried that the only thing they ever talk him up on is his outlet passing.

Don't forget about Mayo dunking on someone too. That was sweet!

Did't love have like 4 or 5 fouls too? Makes you think what will really happen when he is up against veterens in the NBA. Not pretty.

Yeah, I think i heard he had like 4 or 5 fouls right out of the gate...but you get 10 in the games i thought i heard.

Love wasn't known for defense...suppose to have the offensive weapons and passing skills to help. Also a decent rebounder.

Anyone ever think that the timberwolves had Garnett and Ray Allen at one point...maybe they could have went after Paul Pierce back then, oh well!

Pretty consistent games by Love. Through 3 games, a 21 point average, 15 boards, 2 assists, a block...all in thirty minutes. Defense needs work, but learns quickly and gobbles up rebounds against smaller and larger players.

Lets give him some time to see how he adjust to the NBA.

Weird ....... considering they BOTH played in the same league last year and Love was the MVP of the conference!

Also for a guy supposedly looking out of his/this league strange that he would be leading the entire league in rebounding...by almost 3 boards per game.
Scoring wise he's "LOVE" averaging 18 points a game which is .8 less then Mayo is averaging.... again strange but true... all of this playing less minutes then Mayo!

Mayo's averaging a dreadful 4.8 turnovers compared with just 2.6 assists.

In summation Love looks great so far and according to NBA scouts has uncanny passing abilty and anticipation for a young player but like all young rookie NBA-er's he has a lot of work to do!

wow- You must be a stat guy. They are playing against rookies and reserves. stats dont tell the story. watch one of the games. slow and last one down sourt on almost every posession.Then watch mayo- It will then make sense to you. mayo has been dunking over people

Dunks and jump hooks are all worth the same. Nothing better than a big man using a drop step and going up with power for 2.

We won't know for sure what we have until the real games start. Mayo and Love are both playing against the same competition in these summer league games though so you have to give Love some credit.

WE won't realy know what we have until a couple years down the road!

Maybe the Wolves will be in seattle by then???

being a west coaster, i saw both play on the tube alot. i think mayo got too much highschool hype, i just never saw it. love was a really good big man for a school with a history of really great big men. mayo reminds me of ricky davis. tons of talent, but just doesn't get it. love has a sweet touch, but painfully slow. he will get destroyed by todays nba big men (howard, bosh, kg, etc.) but, how bout those outlet passes!
