ok, so lets continue bashing the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, The Leader of the GREATEST COUNTRY EVER!! but what ever we do, lets not offend those on the left. They are sensitive.
sorry dude, I'm not going to let anyone talk down on a President who has done everything in his will to better this world, not to mention this country, despite numerous attacks on his power and the CONSTITUTION of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and the USA its self... you must have forgot 9-11

Wow, I have been trying to stay out of this group peeing session, but this last response is so out there that a response is warranted. So criticizing is now wrong? As for the attacks on him, keep in mind that some of his policies are an attack on the Constitution itself, not necessarily the other way around.
President Bush has done so much to expand executive power under his terms, that some may argue the Constitution has been weakened significantly.
Better stop mentioning this, as I may be deemed an "enemy combatant". Habeas Corpus, we miss you!
The difference here is that your prior post insulted a large group of people (without much of an argument to back them up). Just throwing names out there.
As for those against President Bush, while some may resort to name calling, most don't offer personal attacks. They attack his policies, not his person. I am not a fan of GWB myself, but I won’t attack him as a man, as I'm sure he loves this country like most other people. His policies and actions have failed.
Lets also not forget that many people who have issues with Pres. Bush are not even "d.b. liberals" There are a lot of conservatives who feel let down by him and the Republicans.
Now do you see the difference?

Fish: that's the kind of blowhard comment that you believe wraps your politics in the American flag and gives you the authority to determine who is a patriot and who is not. You must have been sorry not to be blogging during the Cold War so you could attack "liberals" as communists, Joe McCarthy as a hero, and a free press as subversive. This approach is called demogogary and is usually associated with authoratative father figures, subconscious anger, and a bad case of zenophobia.
I see manifestations of this belief system among Latin American right-wing political parties, Facists, and Fox 'news' analysts.

What is so ironic in my name? Was that a personal jab? Thats okay. Many liberals do support a socialist government. Larger government, socialized health care, higher taxes to support social programs, etc... i don't need to list those out. I in no way am opposed to a new view on an old topic, nor am I against progress, yet I challenge any liberal to change my view with facts in to how a liberal viewpoint would suit Americans better.

. . . . and liberals don't believe in he red, white and blue? Am I to assume you are insinuating that liberals don't support this country?
As for what have liberals done? Just off the top of my head: 1. workers rights (8 hour work day, makign child labor illegal) 2. funding universities that are the envy of the world 3. healthcare for kids 4. FDIC/ The New Deal 5. protecting mio ority voting rights during the 1960's 6. establishing public schools 7. anti-monopoly laws 8. social security (it wouldn't be broke if gov't stopped stealing money from the fund!) 9. Emphasis on cleaning up the environment (can you imaging the the U.S. witht he same pollution issues as China?)

There is an extreme in both sitations and for me either extreme is dangerous. Extreme liberalism is too progressive and can lead to chaos. Conversely, extreme conservatism will stagnate economic and political systems. The true balance lies somewhere in between.

Bob Rant on. This country so needs a strong third-party movement right now. You only need to look at the two choices we have for President to know it's true. The partisan politics we see here on this site and everywhere else is a reflection of the gridlock we have in Congress today. They can't even pass spending bills anymore when that is the #1 thing our elected representatives need to be focused on. Many are so myopically focused on the politics of an issue instead of the work/solutions needed to move forward. How do we shrink the size of this bloated government? How do we simplify the idiotic current tax code. And most importantly, how do we leave more money in the hands of every tax payer: individual, small business owner or corporation. Hey I'm all for tax cuts. But you have to concurrently cut spending as well, in fact, even moreso. It really stinks to be an individual without a party on this issue. This disfunctional two-party system of our has done nothing more than weaken our dollar which raises the costs of food and transportation that all of us regardless of income class must bear. Many of us have had to make sacrifices big and small recently. It is time our governments did the same. With very few exceptions this year, I am voting against every incumbent and writing in Ron Paul for President. I'm that tired of it. Any government that ignores the needs and wishes of its populace for long invites rebellion or worse. If any one of us demonstrates chronic dereliction in our jobs, we are shown the door. It is time the same thing happened to the career politicians that care more about towing the party line and spewing worthless rhetoric than pursuing balanced solutions. Rant off.

Finally Big Tom, something we can agree on. I would love to see a strong third party with the best of both involved.
